Synopsis of Council Meetings 13th February 2023
The captain welcomed everyone present. He thanked all Council members for their hard work and support during his year as Captain.
Vice-Captain Paschal Morgan chaired the meeting.
Treasurer’s Report
Invoices presented for payment were agreed.
Club has moved completely to BT with Fast Fibre installed. Treasurer clarified the Lotto Jackpot increases. A second Jackpot has been set up and presently sits at £2000 and is increased by £50 every two weeks. It will become active when the present Jackpot is won. Members are encouraged to support this fundraising event. A special thanks to Dunamann Food Stores who sell our lotto. GI subscriptions have increased £24.50 for 2023. Replacement GI card is now increased to £8.
Correspondence
Stephen Coulter has tendered his resignation as green keeper. We wish him well as he pursues a new pathway.
Captain’s Business
Sympathy has been expressed to the following members on death of relatives: Joe McKnight, father in law; Pearce Colgan brother; Maureen Fitzpatrick, brother; Harold Nicholson, brother; Joe McComb, brother; Brendan Gallagher, mother.
Sub Committee Reports
Greens
Course – 18 holes open; Steps at 1st Tee to be repaired; Pond – leak to be repaired; Captain’s Day; 1st Tee will be closed from 12 noon on the day before. Greenkeeper; Replacement for Stephen Coulter’s position has been advertised.
House – Bar Staff and Catering Franchise have been advertised.
Fundraising
Quiz – 17th February – proceeds to support Turkey and Syria appeal.
Some Sponsorship monies still outstanding for Golf Classic.
Match & Handicaps
Fixture List for 2023 is going to Printers for printing in draft. Sunday Open Stableford competitions have been added to list. Thanks to MCCR Car Repairs, C.R. Morrow and Down PVC for their advertisements in the book.
Strategic Planning
Work in progress; aspire to have a draft Constitution approved by Council. Council to present at AGM.
