2026/27 Winter League and
Winter Competition proposals.
Winter League.
This year’s Winter League competitions are due to commence in October.
1. The format this year will be an individual competition league.
a. As usual there must be an attestor to the weekly score.
2. Scores must be entered into the Clubv1 System.
3. The winter league competitions will run from Thursday to Wednesday each week.
4. Competition will be usually be played using the front 9 holes, however there may be occasions where, in conjunction with the Greens Staff working, it may be necessary to use the back 9 holes.
5. Each individual’s weekly score will be the straightforward number of stableford points achieved.
6. Hopefully the Winter league will run from October to end of December = 12 weeks.
a. The best 8 scores will count for each entrant’s final total.
7. Winter League scores may be played concurrently with the other competitions.
8. It is possible that Sponsored Competitions & Winter competitions in October may still be ‘qualifying!’
If a Winter League 9 hole entry is played simultaneously with a qualifying competition, the Winter League score will be non-qualifying.
If the Winter League 9 hole score is played on its own while the course is still qualifying, this score will count towards Handicap Index. You must inform the Pro-Shop which option is required before commencement of play.
9. When the Winter League entries are played after the course becomes non-qualifying and therefore no Handicap adjustments are made, Winter League weekly top three placings will have deductions applied to their subsequent Winter League scores. (Winner = minus 3, Second = minus 2, Third = minus 1)
a. The deductions will be accumulative but will be expunged after 4 weeks.
10. Entry fee £15 – Entries may be made and paid for in the Pro Shop until 30 September.
11. Weekly points and positions will be posted online.
It is hoped to award prizes for the top 10 or 12 individuals. (Prizes to be confirmed depending on entry numbers – estimates below based on 60 individuals entering.)

Winter Competitions.
Winter Stableford competitions will commence after the sponsored competitions have been completed.
1. They will be played over all open holes in agreement with the Greens Committee.
2. Two competitions will be held each week, Thursday to Saturday and Sunday to Wednesday.
3. Entry fee £4
4. Competitions will be created on Clubv1 and scores MUST be entered into the system to allow for timely and accurate results publication.
a. Repeated non-entry of scores may result in competition suspension!
5. Prize structure –
a. Less than 20 entrants – winner only.
b. 20-25 entrants – 1st & 2nd,
c. 26-29 entrants – 1st, 2nd & Gross,
d. 30+ – 1st, 2nd, 3rd & gross.
6. If the Winter competitions are ‘qualifying’ for handicap, the usual adjustments will apply.
a. When the competitions become non-qualifying with no Handicap Index adjustments, prize winners will have deductions manually applied for subsequent competitions throughout the winter.
b. Winner -3 pts, 2nd -2 pts, 3rd -1 pt, Gross -1 pt.
c. Deductions will be accumulative but will be expunged after 4 weeks.
