Senior Cowdy Match at home to Tandragee – first leg.
Team Captain – Glenn Whyte
Paul McCullagh led the team out with venom in his bones and after losing his first shot, pulled himself together with a great performance taking all 4 points .
Leigh Campbell claimed all 4 points after having a great day in the gents competition earlier in the day. Leigh played the 15th twice today with a hole in one and a birdie 2 with a monster putt.
Mark Trainor had a tough match being being 2 down with two holes to play but fought back to claim a great half match.
Glenn Whyte didn’t start great going 2 down after 4 but found a hot streak with his putter on the back 9 with birdies at 10,11,12,13 & 16 getting 3 and a half points
Aidan Donnelly, who was a late substitute into the team, showed his class with a great up and down on 17 to take all 4 points
Matthew Gibney fought hard in the pouring rain but was simply unlucky being up against a tough Tandragee opponent who didn’t miss much on the day .
Young Louis Poland took all 4 points with a chip in birdie on the 2nd and a great uphill putt on 15. Outstanding play from the young man and one to watch in the future.
A great team performance with the away leg still to play, but a good advantage being 21.5 to 6.5 up.
